KKR cricketer Spencer Johnson recently revealed whose yorker he would prefer to face between Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Starc. Both Bumrah and Starc have a proven track record of bowling perfect yorkers and are two of the greatest bowlers in the game when it comes to using this prized skill effectively.

Johnson, a left-arm pacer who played four matches for KKR in IPL 2025, was involved in a rapid-fire round. His answer to the above question was Bumrah. The left-arm bowler said in a segment with ESPN Cricinfo that Bumrah's yorker was easier to play than Starc's.

Be it the new ball or the old one, Bumrah and Starc have troubled batsmen by bowling yorkers at will. His powerful deliveries make him a vital cog in the wheel for any team, especially in the death overs. Many batsmen have openly acknowledged how dangerous these two bowlers are at their peak.

Johnson's IPL career

Talking about Johnson's IPL career, it hasn't been anything special so far. His IPL career began with Gujarat Titans in 2024. After playing at a base price of Rs 50 lakh, his price shot up to Rs 10 crore in the auction. However, his performance did not live up to his price as he picked up four wickets in five matches at an economy rate of 9.43.

In the four matches he played in IPL 2025, he conceded a lot of runs in the field and his economy was 11.73. The defending champions eventually finished eighth on the points table with only 12 points from 14 matches. Starc and Bumrah had better outings for Delhi Capitals (14 wickets in 10 innings at 8.61) and Mumbai Indians (18 wickets in 12 innings at 6.67) respectively.
