Suryakumar Yadav to be sanctioned by ICC after PCB complaint? Attends hearing with Richie Richardson

The PCB had lodged complaint against Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav, for dedicating a victory over Pakistan to Pahalgam victims recently. And as per various reports, he, along with the BCCI COO Hemang Amin and Cricketing Operations manager Summer Mallapurkar, attender the hearing presided by Richie Richardson. For now, he has been let go with a warning, and could be fined 15% of his match fees, but there is no clarity on the same.
Surya let go after warning
“Surya attended the ICC hearing today. He was accompanied by BCCI’s COO and Cricket Operations Manager. Richardson explained to him that he shouldn’t be making any comments that could be seen as political in nature. The sanction can’t be ascertained. Since it falls under Level 1, it could either be a warning or a financial penalty of 15 percent deductions in match fees,” a tournament source privy to the details told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
Farhan & Haris Rauf hearing soon
After the September 14 IND vs PAK match, Suryakumar Yadav had said, “Perfect occasion, taking the time out – we stand by the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity. Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery. Hope they continue to inspire us all, and we give them more reasons on the ground whenever we get an opportunity to make them smile.”
Meanwhile, that is not the end of the matter. Now, Pakistanis Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan will be attending a hearing, for making objectionable gestures. The batter did a gunshot celebration after scoring a fifty, while Rauf made the 6-0 gesture.
