BESCOM: Official gave a big statement
Let us tell you that regarding cutting off the power supply of M Chinnaswamy Stadium, an official was quoted by the Times of India as saying – Based on the recommendation of the Director General, we gave notice to KSCA in the second week of June and cut off power for three days.
At the same time, earlier the Karnataka High Court had also reprimanded BESCOM for continuing to supply power to the stadium for violating fire safety guidelines by the stadium management. But later KSCA filed a petition, after hearing which the company has taken this decision.
While hearing the said case, Justice S Sunil Dutt Yadav strongly objected to these mistakes and said – If fire safety norms are not followed, the stadium will remain in the dark. We cannot risk another disaster.
It is worth noting that after winning the IPL 2025 trophy, a large number of fans were present outside the stadium during the victory celebration on June 4. During this, 11 people lost their lives due to stampede, while more than 50 people were injured. But now the High Court and Bescom have taken this decision to prevent any such accident.
