MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni: The video is from the 10th match of the 2013 Champions League between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ranchi.

MS Dhoni: With the ICC reportedly giving the green signal to the return of the T20 Champions League in 2026, an old video of legendary captain MS Dhoni hitting five sixes in an over during the 2013 edition has resurfaced and gone viral.

MS Dhoni: Champions League to return in 2026

MS Dhoni: The men’s T20 Champions League, which was last played in 2014, is all set to return in September 2026 under the proposed name of World Club Championship. The ICC and other boards like BCCI and ECB are showing faith in the revival of the league to bring together title-winning franchises like IPL, BBL, PSL, South Africa 20 and The Hundred.

MS Dhoni: Meanwhile, the video that has surfaced is from the tenth match of the 2013 Champions League, which was played between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ranchi. In this match, Dhoni had scored 63 runs off just 19 balls including five sixes in a single over of Perera.

The 18th over of the innings started with a wide, followed by a 92-metre long six straight to the sightscreen, and this was followed by another wide delivery from the Sri Lankan player. After this, Dhoni, after taking a double, hit four sixes in the direction of fine leg, deep point, wide long-on and an upper cut, which was the fifth six of the over.

Watch video below

A total of 34 runs were conceded in the over, with the home player remaining unbeaten on 63* off just 19 balls with the help of one four and eight sixes. His innings played a vital role in helping Chennai Super Kings post 202/4 in 20 overs, which eventually helped them beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs. Suresh Raina received the Player of the Match award for his 84 runs and a wicket, while Dhoni’s innings in the last over caught everyone’s attention.

Dhoni said in a post-match interview, “As the match progressed, the wicket got very good. Later there was more dew on the ground and the ball was coming on well. I tried to hit and it worked. I think credit goes to the wicket. As you see these days, boundaries are not very long in T20. It was very entertaining for the people of Ranchi and the support of the people for Chennai Super Kings was also tremendous.”

After Harmanpreet Kaur’s century, Kranti Gaur wreaked havoc, India defeated England in the third ODI; also captured the series

Harmanpreet Kaur

ENG-W vs IND-W 3rd ODI Harmanpreet Kaur: The Indian women’s cricket team’s tour of England concluded on Tuesday. The last match of the three-match ODI series was played at Chester-le-Street, which Team India won by 13 runs and won the ODI series 2-1.

Earlier, India had also won the T20 series and defeated England 3-2. Batting first in the ODI match played on July 22, India scored 318/5, in response to which the entire England team collapsed after scoring 305 runs in 49.5 overs. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur was also named Player of the Match and Player of the Series.

Team India scored a big score on the strength of Harmanpreet Kaur’s century

Winning the toss and batting first, the Indian team had a good start. The opening pair of Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana shared a 64-run partnership. This partnership was broken by Charlie Dean and Pratika was dismissed after scoring 26 runs in 33 balls. Smriti could not complete her half-century and was dismissed after scoring 45 runs in 54 balls with the help of five fours. From here, captain Harmanpreet Kaur along with Harleen Deol (45) took the score to 161 and then with Jemima Rodrigues (50) took it to 262.

During this, after completing her half-century, Harmanpreet batted in a different style and completed her century in just 82 balls, which is the second fastest hundred in ODIs by the Indian women’s team. English batsmen entangled in Kranti Gaur’s spin

While chasing the target, England had a very bad start and both the openers were out cheaply. Emma Lamb and captain Nat Seward-Brunt added 162 runs for the third wicket and handled the innings, but then Shri Charani gave India a breakthrough and Lamb was out on a personal score of 62. After this, Brunt also could not last long and returned to the pavilion after scoring 98 runs.

Sophia Dunkley contributed 34 runs. At the same time, Alice Davidson-Richards scored 44 runs. However, due to the big target, their efforts did not work and then due to continuous falling wickets, England’s innings ended in the last over. Kranti Gaur took the maximum six wickets for Team India.

Ravi Shastri selected India’s top-5 cricketers, did not give place to Jasprit Bumrah and Rahul Dravid

Ravi Shastri

Ravi Shastri picks his top five Indian cricketers: Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has picked his five favourite Indian cricketers. Former captain Rahul Dravid and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah have not been able to be a part of Shastri’s list. Shastri, who has picked his favourite player from every decade, has included 1983 World Cup winner Sunil Gavaskar and captain Kapil Dev in his top five. The list also includes legends Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli, who recently retired from Test cricket.

During a conversation in an episode of Stick to Cricket, Shastri explained the reason for not including Bumrah in his top five. He says that Jassi still has cricket left in him. He said,

“It will definitely start with Gavaskar. Kapil, Sachin and Virat will definitely be included. MS Dhoni has made the biggest impact in his era. He is part of my list. If Bumrah is still playing cricket, then my five favourite players will be – Sunny (Gavaskar), Kapil, Sachin, Dhoni and Virat.” Sachin Tendulkar is on top

Let us tell you that Ravi Shastri has given the first place to Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar in his list of five favorite cricketers. Shastri believes that there is no adulteration in Sachin’s technique. He has displayed a brilliant game against many dangerous bowlers of his decade. Sachin is the highest run scorer in international cricket.

Kapil Dev won the World Cup for India for the first time in 1983. Sunil Gavaskar was the first Indian batsman to score ten thousand runs in Test cricket. Talking about Dhoni, he has been India’s most successful captain. He won three ICC trophies for India. Kohli, who has recently retired from Tests, has been India’s most successful Test captain. He has also done wonders with the bat.

Bumrah and Dravid did not get a place

The absence of Bumrah and Rahul Dravid in Ravi Shastri’s top five list is surprising. Shastri’s decision of not including Bumrah in his list is understandable, but what could be the reason behind not including a legend like Dravid in his list?
