Rohit Sharma started his international cricket journey on 23 June 2007 with an ODI match against Ireland, so this day holds special significance for him. Team India’s experienced batsman has shared a story from his Instagram account after completing 18 years in international cricket, expressing gratitude for this journey.

Let us tell you that the right-handed batsman has retired from Test cricket and T20 International. He has represented the team in 67 Tests and 159 T20 Internationals respectively. Now he will be seen playing only in the ODI format. Rohit has also played 273 ODIs so far and is expected to play in this format till the next World Cup in 2027.

Meanwhile, on Monday, June 23, Rohit Sharma expressed gratitude on Instagram for completing 18 years in international cricket. He posted a picture of his helmet and wrote in the caption, “Forever grateful 23.06.07”

Rohit Sharma has the highest individual score in ODIs

Rohit Sharma has scored over 19,000 runs across all formats in international cricket. He is known for his effortless timing and ability to convert starts into big scores. Rohit holds the record for the highest individual score in ODIs, scoring an unbeaten 264 against Sri Lanka.

He has been instrumental in shaping India’s white-ball cricket over the past decade. Rohit has captained the Indian team in all three formats of the game. Under his leadership, the team not only performed well but also showed consistency in ICC tournaments.

He ended India’s ICC trophy drought with a win in the T20 World Cup 2024 held in the West Indies and the USA. He then led India to another ICC trophy with a win in the Champions Trophy 2025.
