‘As the Guru, so will be the disciple’ – Yograj Singh’s big reaction on Shubman Gill’s double century, credited Yuvraj Singh’s coaching
Yograj Singh Statement: Shubman Gill has created a stir in the cricket world by scoring a double century in the Edgbaston Test. On social media, fans as well as former cricketers are seen singing praises of him. Meanwhile, a statement by former Indian cricketer Yograj Singh has also come to the fore, in which he has praised Gill’s captaincy innings. Along with this, he also praised Yuvraj Singh for training Gill.

The 25-year-old Gill had crossed the 100-run mark on the first day of this Test. He maintained his rhythm on the second day as well and was successful in scoring a double century. However, Gill missed out on scoring a triple century by just 31 runs. After getting out, the regret was clearly visible on the face of the Indian captain.
Yograj reprimanded Jaiswal and Jadeja
In an interview to ANI, before talking about Gill’s innings, he reprimanded Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja for getting out by playing the wrong shot. Both the players missed their century by a small margin. Talking about Gill, he said,

“Shubman Gill is a great player and I am happy that my son trained him. When a player remains not out after scoring 200, 250 and 300 runs, your mistakes are corrected. A lot has been said about Gill. I would like to tell the media and countrymen that if you have not played cricket yourself, then do not talk about it.”

He further said that the special thing about Yuvi’s coaching is that the brain and mentorship he has, I do not think it matches with anyone else. I am not saying this because he is my son. Players have to be told and explained after every ball. This is the reason that helped Shubman Gill become such a big player. Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill are Yuvi’s left and right hand.
