MS Dhoni: ‘He sings, dances and mimics well’ – Dhoni on Virat Kohli
MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli have shared a great bond both on and off the field.
MS Dhoni: Former Team India wicketkeeper-batsman and captain MS Dhoni recently revealed a fun side of the legendary batsman Virat Kohli during an event held in Chennai. The veteran cricketer said that Kohli loves to sing, dance and mimic. He said that he is the ultimate package of entertainment when he is in the mood.

MS Dhoni and Kohli have had a long and successful career on the field, and represented India across formats. Their chemistry while running between the wickets was often hailed as one of the most dangerous chemistries in world cricket.
The duo played a key role in some of India’s biggest cricketing victories, including the 2011 ICC ODI World Cup win on home turf and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy win in England.

“He also sings well. He is a good singer. He is a good dancer. He is also good at mimicry. If he is in a good mood, he is very entertaining,” Dhoni told anchor Bhavana Balakrishnan.
How was the IPL for both of them?
MS Dhoni had a very poor performance in the 2025 IPL season. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored just 196 runs in 14 matches at an average of under 25 and a strike rate of 135.17. Chennai Super Kings finished at the bottom of the table for the first time in their history and managed just four wins.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli had a brilliant performance in IPL 2025, scoring 657 runs in 15 matches at an average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71, including eight half-centuries, including a best score of 73*. The right-handed batsman finished third in the Orange Cap list.
During this season, Kohli became the first player in IPL history to score 600-plus runs in five different editions. Apart from 657 runs in 2025, he scored 741 in 2024, 639 in 2023, 973 in 2016 and 634 in 2013.
Kohli was expected to play in India’s tour of Bangladesh, but the series was cancelled due to political tensions. As a result, it is uncertain when the star batsman will next represent India in ODIs.
